What Exactly Are FISP Inspectors Looking For Anyway?

FISP, FISP, FISP…Build Safe, Live Safe

Who knows? Maybe Dan Eschenasy, PE Chief Structural Engineer at NYC’s Department of Buildings didn’t coin the phrase ‘build safe, live safe’, but he did put together a pretty cool visual tool named, “FAÇADE CONDITIONS, An Illustrated Glossary of Visual Symptoms”

It covers everything from Crypto-efflorescence Spall to Debonding of Masonry Units, it neatly categorizes every possible symptom (and then some) with a small caveat: “it is by no means exhaustive”.

At Standard, we’ve seen and repaired all of these symptoms, including some not pictured here. To see what we did click Eschenasy’s Illustrated Glossary of Visual Symptoms
